Anxiety (Dental Fear and Phobia)

Symptoms
Dental anxiety, fear and phobia can include one or more of the following symptoms: Feeling of apprehension, excessive worry or fear Feelings of significant stress and distress Feelings of a loss of control or helplessness Feeling of general irritability, tension, restlessness and fatigue Difficulty sleeping Feeling of panic or dread Having a “panic attack” (when thinking about the dentist or while at dentist’s office) Feeling terrified or becoming hysterical Avoiding the dentist Inability to think or speak clearly Feeling agitated or depressed Racing heartbeat; feeling the heart “pounding” in the chest Chest pain or angina Shortness of breath Excessive sweating Dizziness Feeling faint or fainting Dry mouth Nausea Feeling chilled or very hot Feeling jittery or shaking Heart attack Fear of death
