Hi,

Good food for teeth health.....

* Calcium-rich foods, such as low-fat milk, yogurt, and cheese.
* Fresh fruits and vegetables for vitamins A and C, and for chewing in order to promote healthy gums.
* Tea, which is a good source of fluoride.

Limit

* Dried fruits and other sticky foods that lodge between the teeth.

Avoid

* Sweet drinks and snacks.
* Steady sipping of acidic drinks for prolonged periods.
* Also remember, party food and drink is for special occasions not for everyday consumption, because they have more sugar than you need which destroy your teeth.

I'm not sure about cavity-preventing foods, but there are definitely foods that you can eat to strengthen your teeth and gums. Calcium-containing foods like yogurt, milk, and cheese get a lot of mention for building strong bones, but they can also help build strong teeth.

I found an interesting article regarding a study that showed that eating grapefruit signficantly reduces gum bleeding. Though the study was focused on grapefruit, I imagine that any food high in vitamin C would have a similar effect. Vitamin C plays a key role in collagen synthesis, and people with scurvy (vitamin C deficiency) often lose their teeth because their gums cannot support them any longer. So I think vitamin C is an essential part of a health-tooth diet.

We all grew up being told that sweets rot teeth, but are there foods that actually help to promote teeth strength and prevent cavities?
