I love this idea. A dentist in Iowa is offering children money in exchange for their Halloween candy, and then she's going to send the candy to troops overseas. They still get to have fun trick or treating, but eat less of that sugary junk. The main problem with it is that the dentist is only offering a dollar per pound. I'm not entirely certain how much candy is in a pound, but I'm willing to bet that, even when I was a kid, that would only equal a week or two's worth of allowance. Still, I'm very curious to see how many pounds of candy she buys this Halloween.
